Driveway extensions more room without starting over
Need space for another car, a wider entry or a turnaround? A driveway extension adds concrete alongside or beyond the slab you have.
Sound familiar?
Reasons people extend
- A second or third vehicle
- Tires running off the edge onto grass
- No room to turn around
- Wanting a side area for a trailer or boat
Joining new to old
An extension sits beside existing concrete that has already settled and cured. We connect the two so they move together where they should and separately where they need to, with a proper joint between old and new.
Match the slope
The new section has to drain the same way the existing drive does, away from the house and garage. We check the grade before forming so water does not end up trapped at the seam.
Is the old drive worth extending?
If the existing driveway is badly cracked or sunken, extending it means pouring new concrete next to a slab that needs replacing. In that case we will tell you, and price a replacement as well.

Frequently asked
Will the new concrete match?
New concrete starts lighter and weathers closer over time. A clean joint makes it look like part of the plan.
How wide should my driveway be?
It depends on vehicles and layout. A single lane is narrower than a two-car width. See our driveway sizing notes.
