Concrete repairs that fix the cause, too

Cracked sidewalks, flaking patios and broken slab edges are common around Tyler. We repair damaged concrete around your home and look at why it failed, so the fix holds.

Concrete that needs attention

Common problems we repair

  • Cracks in a patio, walkway or slab
  • Surface flaking, pitting or scaling (spalling)
  • Broken corners and edges
  • Sections that are lifted or dropped at a joint
  • Holes or crumbling where water sits
  • Old patches that have come loose

Find the cause first

Concrete usually fails for a reason: water running under it, soil that shrinks and swells, a thin or unsupported slab, or a surface that was finished poorly. If we patch the damage and ignore the cause, it comes back. So we look at drainage, the ground and the slab itself before recommending a fix.

How we repair concrete

  • Crack repair to fill and seal cracks against water.
  • Surface repair for flaking and pitted concrete.
  • Partial replacement: cutting out a broken section and pouring new concrete tied into the old.
  • Leveling for slabs that have sunk but are still whole.
  • Resurfacing for sound slabs with a worn top.

Driveways have their own page

Driveways take vehicle loads, so their repairs are planned a little differently. See driveway repairs for cracks, edges, aprons and section replacement on driveways.

Questions we hear

Frequently asked

Can all cracked concrete be repaired?

Not always. Hairline and narrow cracks in a stable slab usually can. Wide, shifting cracks or broken slabs often need a section replaced.

Why is my concrete flaking?

Surface flaking is often caused by water getting into the top layer, or by a weak surface from finishing. Spalled concrete repair explains the options.

Do you repair concrete steps and porches?

Tell us what you have. Porch slabs and landings are flatwork, and we will let you know after seeing them.
