Concrete leveling · Tyler

Sidewalk trip hazards even out the step

A walkway section that has dropped even a little creates a lip that catches toes, wheels and walkers. Leveling the low panel removes the step.

Sound familiar?

Where trip hazards show up

  • Between two walkway panels
  • Where the walk meets the driveway
  • At the bottom of porch steps
  • Along the edge of a patio

Lift the low side

Where the low panel is whole, it can be lifted to meet its neighbor. Where a root has lifted the high side instead, the fix is different, and we will explain the options.

Broken panels

If the dropped panel is cracked through, lifting it can leave a broken surface. Replacing the panel is usually better. See sidewalk repair.

Questions we hear

Frequently asked

Can you just grind the lip down?

Small lips are sometimes ground, but that does not fix a panel that is still sinking. We will tell you what fits.

Who fixes the sidewalk at the street?

That may be the city's right-of-way. Check with the City of Tyler first.
