Driveway crack repair keep the water out

A crack on its own is not always a disaster. The trouble starts when rain gets through it, softens the ground under the slab and lets the concrete move. Repairing cracks early slows that down.

Cracks to take seriously

  • Cracks wider than a credit card is thick
  • One side of the crack higher than the other
  • Cracks that have grown since last year
  • Weeds growing from the crack

How crack repair works

The crack is cleaned out, loose material removed, and filled with a material suited to the width and whether the crack is still moving. The goal is a sealed crack that sheds water.

When a crack needs more

If a crack has shifted so one side is higher, or the slab around it is breaking up, filling it will not fix the problem. That section may need leveling or replacement.
