The job
The owners wanted a patio slab behind their brick home to sit under a pergola.
What we found
The pergola posts needed solid support, and a standard patio edge was too thin to carry them.
What we did
We thickened the slab where the posts land, reinforced the whole patio and poured it with a smooth broom finish.

Worth knowing. If a roof or pergola might come later, say so before the pour. Post locations change the slab.

What we found
Tree roots ran close to the drive path, and the soft spots were where water crossed the drive.
What we did
We cut the drive in, removed roots in the path, built a compacted base and poured a long reinforced drive with joints at regular spacing.
